Inhouse Design, a leading interior design firm in Cape Town, transformed an empty shell into a vibrant and collaborative workspace for Ogilvy, setting a new standard for office interior design in the city and sparking the commercial revitalization of Woodstock. This project, which earned Inhouse Design an award for best office design, is a testament to their expertise in creating innovative and functional workspace designs. Ogilvy's brief was for a workspace that mirrored their creative and collaborative business ethos. Inhouse Design's solution was an open and transparent environment that fostered communication and interaction. A key feature of this office interior design is the stunning floating staircase, a feat of engineering where 10 tons of plated steel were welded to create a visually light and gravity-defying illusion. The sense of openness is further enhanced by custom-designed frameless glass walls and doors throughout the office. This design choice not only promotes transparency but also allows for seamless movement and communication between teams, a crucial element of modern workspace design. To cater to the dynamic needs of a creative agency, Inhouse Design incorporated several "floating lounges" into the office layout.
