About the Project

Recognized for their expertise in conceptualization and implementation, Inhouse Design Studio was entrusted by Old Mutual, a renowned insurance company, with complete creative freedom for the interior fit-out of Old Mutual Alternative Investments. The Inhouse Design Team, led by Creative Director Aidan Hart and Associate Director Moiisha Visagie, embarked on a scheme to infuse the area with a welcoming sense of warmth. As leading interior office design experts, their aim was to craft a space that authentically represented the Old Mutual Alternative Investments brand, one of Africa’s largest alternative investment managers, while integrating a crucial ‘human’ element into the interior office design. This was achieved through the careful introduction of quality natural materials, including timber—specifically harlequin and stained oak—and luxurious leather, complemented by a sophisticated colour palette of earthy tones, reflecting our commitment to international designs. The reception area, the initial point of contact for visiting guests, immediately conveys this stylish warmth. A striking reception backdrop, meticulously crafted from timber and shaped into elegant fins, serves as an eye-catching design element. Through thoughtful space planning, the waiting area features comfortable leather seating, bespoke wooden furniture, and strategically placed indoor planting, all reinforcing the natural aesthetic. This attention to detail, including elements of custom designed furniture, ensures that the interior office design not only meets functional requirements but also creates an inviting and memorable experience, underscoring Inhouse Design Studio’s capability in delivering exceptional corporate environments.
